Urban sanitation

 

Sanitation system should be self-contained and self-contained. Every household sanitary latrine will be upgraded. Individual sanitation, public and community birds as well as will be set up by the City Corporation / Pasaresh and leased to the private sector for maintenance.

The City Corporation or Porsche will be responsible for the collection, disposal and management of solid waste.

The role of women in planning, decision-making and management processes will be promoted through their representation in management committees / boards (Purashav / WASA).

Drainage systems between cities and municipalities will be coordinated with the overall drainage system by coordinating with the Ministry of Water Resources.

Participation of private sector and NGOs in sanitation will be encouraged.

Behavioral development and changes in user communities will be guided by social cohesion and hygiene education.

As much as possible, waste materials will be recycled to prevent underground pollution as waste materials and discharges.


Urban water supply

 

Cost of sustainable water supply will be provided for water supply. However, water will be supplied to educational and religious institutions as per existing government norms..

Future water tariffs will be determined on the basis of cost of water production, operation and maintenance, administration and concentration.

The Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) will be responsible for sustainable water supply in metropolitan areas where WASA exists, while in other urban areas the Purshavas will be responsible for the service with the help of DPHA.

WASA and tourism market will improve their operational efficiency including financial management.

The private sector will be promoted.

DPHE, DOI, BSTI, Atomic Energy Commission (SEC) and CBO will monitor the water quality to ensure an acceptable standard and send their report to the Water Quality Control Committee of the local government department.

WASA and related agencies will support and promote any joint venture between slums and squatters to access water supply services on payment.

WASA, DPHA, BUET and AAC will conduct research and development activities with special emphasis on hard and underserved areas for development of appropriate technologies and other developments. They will share research and development results and provide technical assistance to the private sector.

DPHE will have appropriate institutional linkages for planning, design, implementation, management and human resource development and capital market capacity building.

NGOs will play an appropriate role in conducting motivational activities.
